SO… How do I blog?

To post a comment on this blog, enter your name (first and last initial only) and your e-mail address (or a parent’s). Then, type the letters you see for the anti-spam space (to make sure you’re not a spammer). Before submitting your comment, first draft and type your writing in Microsoft Word. Then, revise, edit, and proofread very carefully. You should save your comment in a folder on your computer. Then, copy and paste it into the comment space on the L.A. blog.
*****Once you submit your comment, you cannot go back to edit and revise. So, make sure your comment is correct and final before you submit it! *****

Although this is a space for 6 Blue Language Artists and related friends and peers to discuss freely their opinions and ideas about the topics and themes we are working on in class, we must set some firm rules for participation. The following rules must be followed. If any of the rules are broken, you will be blocked from participating in the blog. These rules are set for your safety. In addition, because this is an academic blog, the same standards that we use in the classroom are upheld.

1. Always use the username: First name, Last initial.

2. Don’t use/write any personal information that reveals your identity to the public and www. Although all posts and comments to this blog are first sent to me for clearance (so yes, I will read every post/comment), anyone on the web can READ our blog.

3. Because I need to clear/allow every post/comment on this blog, please be sure that your comments are ‘school-appropriate’, relevant to the post/comments (no random-ness please!), and clearly and correctly written. *Write your comment as a Microsoft Word document first, use spell check and grammar check, re-read your comment, then copy and past into the comment box. Once you submit your comments, you CAN’T go back to revise and edit.

4. Do not write any negative comments towards others and/or their comments. This is a space for us to exercise our freedom of expression and ideas, friendly and intellectual collaboration, and inquiry.

5. Please enjoy… This is a wonderful opportunity for you to ‘speak’ with one another about the topics and themes of our work in L.A. this year. At the same time, your comments are shared with a greater audience that includes other 6th graders at our school, teachers, parents, etc. so your voice will be heard by many others.
